Your story is unique & so is my approach to it.
Celebrate the fun and laughter and I’ll be there to capture it artfully and truthfully. I combine documentary & editorial photography on both film & digital for timeless, natural photos.

You want to be in the moment for your day!
and still get epic photos
Not a fan of being photographed? I hear ya, I don’t think anyone does! I like to work in a relaxed, creative documentary style veering away from traditional posed wedding photography.
Whilst I still take the traditional ‘formal’ shots of your family, the special moments and reactions from you and your guests are just as important as well as all the little details you spent time creating for your day. I’ll steal you away for a few shorter couple photo sessions lasting 10-15 minutes so you can enjoy your day.
We are a perfect match if:
You want stylish but laid-back photos
I work in a documentary style with some creative direction
You want to have fun and be in the moment
I’m here for the laughter and emotional moments
You want photos that feel like your day
My film & digital combination will take anyone viewing your gallery back to your day
I create laid-back photos with feeling

Why I’m a Wedding Photographer
As a wedding photographer, my aim is to capture timeless memories for you to cherish and share with generations to come. The significance of family photos resonates deeply with me. I am lucky to have photos that date as far back as 1894. My great-grandmother was a passionate photographer and also owned a Super 8 camera, and I feel incredibly grateful to have inherited these precious images and films.
In 2015, when my grandad suffered a stroke, it profoundly shifted my perspective on my business and the purpose behind my work. I connected on Facebook with a distant relative who shared copies of a family album featuring photos of him. To my surprise, my grandad’s long-term memory was the first to return. He could recall everything from the old photos and the Super 8 films, experiencing genuine joy from those memories. That day, when I took his picture, it was the first time I had seen him truly smile since the stroke, as he reminisced about his cousins and laughed at the stories behind each image.
In 2019, I began climbing Munros, inspired by his love for his old albums showcasing his Munro-bagging adventures. While climbing my first Munro, I struck up a conversation with a man who seemed to be around my granddad’s age. I shared my story and my “why,” and he expressed how amazing it was that I was undertaking this journey. As I reached the summit, tears filled my eyes, overwhelmed by the moment.
The connections we forge with one another are invaluable—our memories and photographs weave the legacy of who we are and the story of our lives. Weddings are such a significant part of this journey, and I am truly honoured to be a part of every wedding I photograph.

MY APPROACH
moments, emotions & memories.
For me, photography is fundamentally about storytelling—capturing the emotions of weddings and creating lasting memories. Each couple I work with is unique, and their individual stories resonate deeply with me. I often find myself moved to tears, particularly during the ceremony and speeches.
I prefer a relaxed, creative documentary style with some editorial direction. I can utilise both available light and flash to convey the day’s emotion and ambience. While I still take the classic ‘formal’ family portraits and couple portraits, I believe that the genuine moments and reactions from you and your guests are just as important sd all the little details you spent time creating for your day.
Unless you wish to dedicate extensive time to your couple portraits or are planning an elopement, I typically arrange two or three brief sessions, each lasting about 10-15 minutes.
If the weather is looking a bit wild, we might opt for one longer session of around 30 minutes or utilise indoor spaces. I absolutely love photographing during the ‘golden hour,’ when the light is at its most beautiful, so I might whisk you away during dessert if the lighting is just right.
In this digital age, I feel that wedding albums are more crucial than ever—they serve as the first heirloom for your family. My own wedding album and family albums hold immense significance for me, and I cherish the stories they tell.

THE EXPERIENCE

Your wedding photography goes beyond just capturing beautiful, timeless images; it’s about collaborating with a professional who instills confidence and ensures an enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland but available worldwide.

Some film frames from Cat & Luke’s gorgeous day at @rossie_on_the_earn earlier this month 🎞️✨
Everything felt relaxed, joyful and full of life from start to finish.
Colourful flowers, emotional hugs, confetti, guests spilling out into the sunshine between the rain showers, and a very dreamy bluebell wander before the evening kicked in. The kind of day that didn’t try too hard, but felt beautiful in every single moment because of it.
Rossie was the perfect backdrop for it all too. Warm, laid back and full of those soft little pockets of light I’m always chasing on film.
Sarah & Ryan – The Secret Garden
It was such a joy to go back to where I grew up and photograph Sarah and Ryan for their pre-wedding shoot. The beautiful ruins of an old estate beside my grandparents house on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Where I used to daydream about being Mary from “The Secret Garden” and hear stories from my uncle about the eccentric old man that used to live the house. Thank you for trusting my vision ✨
“Sometimes since I’ve been in the garden I’ve looked up through the trees at the sky and I have had a strange feeling of being happy as if something was pushing and drawing in my chest and making me breathe fast. Magic is always pushing and drawing and making things out of nothing. Everything is made out of magic, leaves and trees, flowers and birds, badgers and foxes and squirrels and people. So it must be all around us. In this garden – in all the places.”
Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
A few from my fave film camera the Bronica RF645.
There’s something about medium format film that you just can’t beat. The finer grain, the colours and tones from the larger negatives… it’s my favourite type of film for portraits and details.
Photos taken in Sicily, Milan, Scotland & England ✨

I still have some limited summer availability for couples photoshoots and proposals! I would love to hear from you if this is your vibe 🎞️
Jordan & Alec eloped to Edinburgh all the way from Atlanta, and what a beautiful day it was ✨
“We’re both very low key and didn’t want a huge wedding. We’re so excited to have something intimate between just the two of us. Scotland is really important to Alec — his grandparents are from here and he studied in Edinburgh. I can’t wait to explore a place that means so much to him.”
They got ready together at @virginhotelsedi before heading to their ceremony at the historic @riddlescourt. Afterward, we wandered through some of Edinburgh’s most iconic spots; the Vennel steps, Dean Village and Victoria St. Soaking up the sunshine and sneaking into a quiet pub for a celebratory pint. It felt like something out of a storybook.
Most of the day was captured on film, but I’ve included a few digital favourites too. Including one with my current obsession: using a film camera flash on my digital camera for that nostalgic, night-out energy. I’m so in love with how it all came together 🎞️

A few 35mm film frames from Katie & Jack’s absolute belter of a wedding at @monachylemhorhotel last month 🎞️✨
When they first got in touch they told me:
“We wanted to get married in Scotland, close to where Katie’s grandparents live, as she would love them to be able to come, and it’s a place that holds many special memories. We loved Monachyle Mhor’s beautiful surroundings and relaxed vibe. As most of our friends and family will be coming from England, it will be something different for them to experience. No real theme to the day, we just want it to feel laid back and fun for everyone.”
And honestly… they absolutely nailed it.
The whole day felt so warm and effortless. Everyone properly relaxed into it, the atmosphere was incredible, and Monachyle looked ridiculously beautiful tucked away in the hills. Add in the unreal food (still thinking about it tbh) and it was one of those weddings that just felt good from start to finish
A few 35mm and 120 film favourites from May & Sam’s incredible day at @rcpevenue ✨it was such an joy to have it featured in print and digital on @tietheknotscotland
These two have the most romantic story: they met on an oyster farm in Japan (I mean… come on! How perfect is that?). Their wedding was a beautiful blend of cultures, travel, and love, with family and friends joining them from Japan, the USA, and across the UK to celebrate in the heart of Edinburgh.
A day full of elegance, connection, and so much joy… and this is just a tiny glimpse of it. The film photos just capture the energy of the day so perfectly 🎞️
Thank you to @southsun for being the most amazing film lab.

All drama, all romance… exactly how I love it.
There’s something about black & white film that strips everything back to feeling. No distractions, just light, shadow, connection. The way it holds emotion feels closer to memory than reality. I was photographing a lot of these at like 1/30th and there’s something about the emotion of a slow shutter speed on b&w film the digital just capture.
And these two… Kitty & Rene are completely magnetic together and like something out of my creative dream world.
Shot on medium format 400TX and 35mm HP5, both pushed +2 for that extra grit, contrast and mood I’ll never get tired of.

A few of the film frames from Lizzie & Ewan’s sun-soaked wedding last May at Guardswell Farm ✨🎞️
There’s something about seeing the day through the soft grain and rich tones of 35mm and medium format film that just feels right. The warm, intentional, full of love and thought and unfiltered joy.
They brought their people together from Scotland, Switzerland and Australia for a celebration that was all heart. Secondhand treasures, seasonal sharing food, wildflowers everywhere, and a ceilidh that had everyone spinning around on the dance floor (I’m so obsessed their first dance song, “Take My Hand” by @skerryvore )
It was one of those days that leaves a mark. Honest, joyful, and filled with the kind of magic that film captures so beautifully.

Obsessed with how these came back from the lab 🎞️
Romantic, candlelit, a little bit moody, a little bit dramatic. Exactly the kind of light and feeling I’ll chase forever. The way the glow from the candles, the light and shadows, the texture in the walls, the richness of the tones… this is why I love film so much.
Captured on a mix of 35mm and medium format at the beautiful @elevate_workshops at @themountwithout_events last month. Film just feels different. ✨

I’m Loraine and I love photographing on film 🎞️
The grain, the softness, the way the colours and light look on film.
Film slows me down, makes me intentional, and lets weddings feel like moments rather than content.
I shoot for feeling over perfection.
For atmosphere, shadow, texture and nostalgia.
For couples who want their day to look and feel like a memory.
I love slow mornings with vinyl records, vintage clothes shopping, old movies, live music gigs and art galleries.
✨ Limited 2026 availability remaining
✨ Now booking 2027 weddings
I am based in Scotland but photograph across the UK & Europe.
If this speaks to you, my books are open and I’d love to hear about your plans.
