Analogue 35mm Film Wedding Photography

I use analogue film to create artistic images with emotion and nostalgia.

CAPTURING MOMENTS ON 35MM & MEDIUM FORMAT FILM

Nothing beats the nostalgia and magic of 35mm or medium format film. The beautiful aesthetics and colour tones give romantic and timeless results.

Picture this: a wedding album filled with timeless, dreamy images that capture the essence of your special day with unparalleled warmth and depth.

Enter film wedding photography. In an era dominated by digital technology, we are are rediscovering the charm of analogue wedding photos.

I offer natural and authentic wedding photography captured both digitally and on timeless 35mm and medium format analogue film. This gives you creative, high-end, and truly timeless wedding photos.

My photographic style when moving to digital was still heavily influenced by film. When shooting both together my work blends seamlessly to create a timeless style.

35MM FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

HOW DOES IT WORK?

I typically carry 3 cameras with me on a wedding day between digital and film. If you prefer a film focus I can use one digital and 2 film or for a digital focus I use 2 digital and 1 film camera.

My film photos are developed either by myself or by a professional film lab. My negatives are scanned at print resolution and delivered digitally via your online gallery. You can print all film photos from the digital scans. Your negatives are available on request for £100 per roll of film.

My negatives are scanned at a high resolution using professional negative scanning equipment. You can print all film photos from the digital scans.

For 35mm film I use mostly the Canon 1V and EOS-3, these use the same EF lenses as my digital cameras delivering sharp and high quality images. They both use auto-focus allowing me to work quickly at a fast-paced wedding. Both cameras are also super quick for me to reload and I can do it within seconds. I also use the Pentax MX and various point-and-shoot cameras.

For medium format, I use the Pentax 645 with various lenses. This is more suited to portraits and details as it is a manual focus camera.

Colour: I love Portra400, Portra800 and Gold200. When photographing indoors I use Cinestill800T.
Black and White: for black & white I love HP5 and also Pan400.
