Autumnal Scottish Micro Wedding – 35mm film & digital

AUTUMNAL SCOTTISH MICRO WEDDING IN THE BORDERS
“We wanted somewhere that our family could stay with us. We loved our trip to Scotland a few years back and wanted to make our wedding an adventure for everyone!”
Nestled in the heart of the Scottish Borders, Maplehurst House provided the perfect setting for Nicole &. Bryen’s intimate autumnal Scottish micro wedding.
With golden leaves blanketing the grounds and a crisp seasonal charm in the air, the couple exchanged a first look and emotive personal vows. They then had their ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends on the lawn of the house.
The warm, candlelit reception inside the historic house created a relaxed and romantic atmosphere, perfectly complementing the rustic elegance of the day.
From heartfelt moments to breathtaking portraits set against the hilly landscape around the venue, this wedding was a true celebration of love in one of Scotland’s most enchanting locations.

Why HAVE YOUR ELOPEMENT or micro wedding in the Scottish borders?
Couples who elope in the Scottish Borders are often drawn to its romantic landscapes, historic charm, and intimate atmosphere. Many adventurous couples choose this region for its rolling hills, ancient forests, and secluded locations, offering a private and scenic backdrop without the crowds of more famous Scottish destinations like Glencoe or the Isle of Skye. The flexibility of Scotland’s marriage laws also makes it an appealing choice, allowing couples to legally marry almost anywhere, from the banks of the River Tweed to a hidden glade in the countryside.

A Rich History
For those with a love of history, the Borders offer a wealth of enchanting venues, from grand country estates to the ruins of medieval abbeys. Many couples with Scottish ancestry choose this region to honour their heritage, exchanging vows in a place that holds deep cultural significance. With its charming villages and historic landmarks, the area provides an authentic Scottish experience without feeling overly commercial or touristy.

acessible elopement or micro wedding location
Another reason couples elope here is the perfect balance between rural tranquillity and convenience. The Scottish Borders offer breathtaking scenery while still being easily accessible from Edinburgh and other major cities, making travel and logistics simpler for couples and any guests they may invite. Whether planning a completely private ceremony or a micro wedding with close family, eloping in the Borders allows couples to enjoy a relaxed yet meaningful wedding experience in one of Scotland’s most picturesque regions.
