She was also so helpful and organised in the lead-up to the wedding, providing really practical and detailed planning templates and advice for the day scheduling and photos. Ada & Dylan in Edinburgh last September, photographed completely #onfilm (& a lil bit of super 8 snuck in at the end)
Photographing other photographers is always special—but when they ask you to do it completely on film and bring a Bronica RF645 and let you shoot with it? That’s next-level joy. (I’m still thinking about that camera, not gonna lie.)
I had the most magical day showing this pair around some of my favourite places in the old town of Edinburgh. Followed by a sunny hike up Arthur’s Seat.
Thank you for letting me capture you both.
Photographed on 35mm & 120 with #pentax645 #bronicarf645 #canon1v
With #portra400 #kodakgold200 #ilfordhp5 & #trix400

Slowing down and soaking in the magic and moments. Glencoe on 35mm film, where every frame feels like a breath held just a little bit longer. A moment really stopped in time.
There’s something about the grain, the tones, the waiting. The way film sees light is magic. In the Scottish highlands, even more so.
Shot on 35mm film, no editing. Just patience and a love for the process.
Looking forward to going back to glencoe for another beautiful elopement this weekend.

For me wedding photography is about the little moments that feel like magic ✨
A few BTS clips from gorgeous days I’ve photographed

Storytelling with hands ✨ (it was time for another one of these right?)
One of the things I always look for when photographing is the way that hands tell a story. The way someone touches or holds their partner, a hug and hand squeeze from someone close to you. The nervous tension, the loose joyous moments, hands are such a key storytelling element.
When photographing portraits, hand placement is something simple that can elevate a photo. I always like hands to feel elegant, graceful and soft.
I have a background as a dancer, I alway remember my ballet teacher pushing the importance of hand placement. It’s something that’s lead me through both my life as a dancer and a photographer.
Here’s some of my favourite storytelling moments with hands and touch from this year ✨(all taken #onfilm #35mm and #120 !)

Abhipsa & Jacob in Glencoe #onfilm (#35mm & #120)
I’m so excited for another trip to Glencoe next weekend for a beautiful elopement. I’ve been looking through past Glencoe galleries and falling even more in love with these photos of Abhipsa and Jacob I took last October.
The colours of the expired #pro400h just looked so incredible with the autumn colours ✨
I still have a small amount of availability for 2025 if you are looking for a photographer.

Throwback to some beautiful moments from Taylor and Luke’s stunning day at @thefreecompanysco in 2022
I absolutely love this time of year before wedding season starts. I get time to review my work from past weddings and write down my intentions for the year.
This year my aim with Instagram is to forget the algorithm and post most beautiful moments over couple portraits. Taylor and Luke’s day was both beautifully curated and full of lots of emotion.

Moody film noir vibes on a rainy day in Barcelona with @sparklingmoments.events at @la_baronia on film and digital ✨
When I arrived in Barcelona, I was envisioning soft glowing golden hour light to set off the beauty of this day. Embracing the dark romantic castle vibes with the mist giving it a cinematic feeling. The rain added to the atmosphere, making it look like coming out of a movie and a dream for me to photograph.

“The preview photos look incredible, when did we become models?!
Thank you so much for everything! We had such a fantastic time. You made us both feel at ease in front of the camera, which is not an easy feat. And everyone was saying how lovely you were – it felt like you were one of the guests”

Would you believe me if I told you these photos were taken using a 20 year old DSLR?
Last April I took my Canon 5D, which was released in 2005 to a styled shoot to have a play around with it. Paired with my sigma art 50mm f1.4 lens, I loved the results. I used some filters to create the blurred effects.
When I was fairly early in my wedding photography journey, I used the 5d ii and this camera and cheap sigma zoom lenses for about 4 years (I photographed my first few weddings in 2009 & 2010 on a canon 30d and 5d mk ii which is wild to think about!). I only upgraded to the 5d mk iii and better lenses when I went full time with wedding photography in 2015.
Whilst my editing style and work has changed and evolved along the way, I’m still so proud of a lot of my early photography work taken on this camera.
You do not need thousands of pounds of fancy equipment and mirrorless cameras to take good photos. This camera and lens combo you can buy second hand for around £400.
I learnt photography on film before moving to digital. I wholeheartedly believe that learning on cameras that aren’t as easy to use and have limitations, will ultimately make you a more creative and technically stronger photographer. Pushing through the challenges is where the creative magic happens ✨
