Megan and Art said about Wedderlie House, “We fell in love with the fun, friendly and laid back atmosphere of Wedderlie House. Given that so many of our guests are travelling from abroad, we wanted a venue with accommodation onsite so that we can maximise the time with them! Wedderlie is the perfect blend of a ‘summer camp’ vibe with the formality suitable for a wedding venue and we can’t wait to escape there with our friends and family.

EVENING BEFORE PARTY WITH PIZZA AND RUSSIAN WEDDING TRADITIONS

I photographed their Friday evening celebrations, rather than a formal rehearsal dinner they opted for a pizza van for a laid back and fun vibe. They also included the Russian wedding tradition of the Ransom Games. As part of this the groom has to win over the bride by completing fun tasks or paying a ransom. The game ended with Art having to play a song to win over his bride, he chose Taylor Swist – Love Story and it was incredible.

A MODERN LAID BACK HUMANIST WEDDING AT WEDDERLIE HOUSE

Their wedding day had a laid back and informal vibe. They opted to do a first look together to have their couple portraits and time together before their ceremony. I always highly recommend a first look to ease your nerves and have more time with your friends and family during the drinks reception. They went for a humanist ceremony, for a personal feel and touch with Art’s sister Lada translating into Russian for Art’s family.
