Gorgeous mid-season creative reset at @elevate_workshops with the most amazingly talented team.
Here’s a few sneak peeks from yesterday I edited on the train home. I shot 10 rolls of film yesterday so really excited to see how those come out as I’m already so obsessed with the digital files.
I’ve been loving using my film camera flash on my digital camera so it was lovely to nail the settings on that yesterday. I love the 90s film vibe it gives to my digital photos.
I also tried out some shots with Vaseline on the filer on my mamiya 6 and some double exposures 👌🏻
I’m waiting for film scans back from some incredible days over the last few weeks so I can’t wait to share lots of work soon!

Congratulations to @eric.x.elisa who got real life engaged last week. They are the sweetest souls and it was an absolute joy to photograph them at the vintage romance inspired styled photoshoot I organised in April.
Huge love to the team of creatives who brought beautiful ideas, details and a whole lot of heart to the day at @riddlescourt @shbtweddings
I’m just so obsessed with everything and I was squealing when I got the film scans back from the lab!

Breaking the grid rules and letting some landscapes shine, even if Instagram prefers portrait. All captured #onfilm 🎞️
I’ve always been drawn to the storytelling feel of landscape images. There’s something about the space, the light, and the way you can show the full scene that makes everything breathe. Period buildings, beautiful architecture, and a strong sense of place have inspired me for as long as I can remember.
My dad is a surveyor who works with a lot of historical buildings and used to take me along with him on site visits and I was always blown away by the magic and sense of history. I love weaving that atmosphere into the stories I tell.
A little glimpse of Winton Castle in all its glory, the stunning pink ballroom and gorgeous ornate details, along with the gorgeous details Lauren & Finlay poured into their day plus all the laughter and emotion ✨

A few digital favourites from May & Sam’s incredible day at @rcpevenue this weekend ✨ I’m so excited to see how the film scans come back. Every moment was an absolute dream to photograph.
These two have the most romantic story: they met on an oyster farm in Japan (I mean… come on! How perfect is that?). Their wedding was a beautiful blend of cultures, travel, and love, with family and friends joining them from Japan, the USA, and across the UK to celebrate in the heart of Edinburgh.
A day full of elegance, connection, and so much joy… and this is just a tiny glimpse of it. Can’t wait to share more soon! 🎞️

A little peek behind the camera — and into my world 🎞️
I’m Loraine (she/ her) wedding photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I photograph in Scotland, the UK & Europe. I’m an artist, analogue film lover, ex dancer & model, actress and big fan of making everyday moments feel like magic. When I’m not photographing weddings you’ll find me looking for vintage clothing gems, going to art galleries, travelling or exploring new places in Scotland with my beagle Alfred!
My work is a mix of digital + analogue, instinct + nostalgia. I’ve photographed wild dancefloors and quiet vows, built dance costumes, studied art, lived a few lives and it all feeds into how I tell stories with heart and style.
I got married in 2023 to my wonderful husband Chris, so I know how it feels planning a wedding and being a bride. I’m here to guide you with helpful planning tips and advice.
Whether it’s a wedding day or a quiet moment at home, I’m always chasing light, feeling, and a little bit of wonder.
My business is LGBTQ+ inclusive and all love is welcome here.
Thanks for being here 💫

Real moments, captured on film 🎞️
There’s something about shooting on film that just hits different. The pace is slower, more intentional — it asks you to really see what’s unfolding. To lean into feeling over perfection.
These frames aren’t about poses, performance or perfection. They’re about atmosphere, movement, the unscripted magic that happens when no one’s really watching.
The way the light falls. A glance, a touch, holding back the tears… or letting them out. A quiet chaos of emotion.
Film gives everything a softness, a grit, a sense of timelessness. A moment that already belongs to memory.
This is what I love most about documentary work: honest, heartfelt storytelling with all its texture intact.
On a wedding day, I blend a documentary approach with some light creative direction on a wedding day. I take a “guest with a camera” approach where my direction feels natural and organic.
I have over 20 years experience as a photographer and a background in modelling, dance and acting. My aim is to make you feel relaxed and comfortable across your wedding day.

Kenzie and Tyler in St. Andrews ✨🎞️ Swipe for the proposal!
The most stylish pair of school sweethearts who have been together for 13 years!!!! Tyler chose West Sands beach to propose to Kenzie, having visited St. Andrews together it felt like the perfect spot.
Captured artfully on 35mm film & digital ✨

A little hello from behind the camera…and this time, in front of it too.
I’m Loraine (she/her) wedding photographer, artist, and lifelong lover of storytelling through light, texture, and connection.
Last week I took part in a photographer headshot swap and the incredible @simonhird photographed me on my film camera.
I used to dance burlesque, model in my twenties, and even did a little acting. So I knew I didn’t want “just” headshots. I wanted portraits that felt a bit rock ‘n’ roll, a bit vintage, a bit fashion and completely, unapologetically me. Simon absolutely nailed it. Of course I had to bring out this epic dress from @queensofarchive and my @loefflerrandall shoes ✨
The last year has been a bit of a whirlwind health-wise. I live with endometriosis, and alongside my health getting worse I’ve also lost my self confidence and sense of self. Since having surgery in January, I’ve been slowly rebuilding and I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. Getting in front of the camera was a way of claiming that back.
My work is a mix of film and digital, instinct and intention. I chase interesting light, real connection, a sense of place and that fleeting magic that makes a photo feel like a memory. My unique perspective of being both sides of the camera and my journey through over 20 years since picking up a film camera in high school art shapes the way I tell stories and direct people. I have an appreciation and love for art, fashion and cinematography that inspires my work.
If you’re looking for wedding photography full of soul, storytelling, and a little bit of edge… we might just be a perfect match.
