I’M LORAINE
(SHE/HER)
I am an Edinburgh-based wedding photographer specializing in both digital and analogue film (both 35mm and medium format). Since 2009, I have photographed over 300 weddings, and I love every moment. My journey in photography began with 35mm film, fueled by my passion for art, nostalgia for old movies, vintage fashion, and the romance of Scotland.
I work in a creative, and modern documentary style blended with some editorial direction. This allows me to naturally and artfully narrate the story of your wedding day which feels authentic.
There is no greater joy than photographing the happiest moments alongside awesome people. Each couple I work with is unique, which is what I love so much about wedding photography. I approach every wedding with that in mind to tell your story as a couple, alongside the narrative of the day.
I find joy in capturing the connections between people and the excitement and joy that a wedding day brings. I have a love for adventure and the architecture and landscapes across Scotland. While I am based in Edinburgh, I am available to document your wedding or elopement in Scotland and beyond.

With preparations and a celebratory meal at the elegant Gleneagles Townhouse, every moment was steeped in charm and nostalgia.

2025 the year I push myself out of my comfort zone more……
Talking into a camera is something that omgggggg I am so anxious about. Which is wild because I’ve been in multiple large production film and TV sets as an extra (including having a HUGE camera right in my face for hours on end when I was in Outlander) but ya know 4th wall and you can pretend it’s not there.

The most gorgeous day in Glencoe with Lexy & Roxy earlier this month ✨🎞️
A slow, laughter-filled morning getting ready, followed by a golden first look in the sunshine by Loch Leven—one of those moments that feels straight out of a dream.
Their ceremony was tucked away in the quiet of Glencoe Lochan, surrounded by towering pines, the hush of spring, their favourite people (and pups), with the mountains standing watch.
And as the skies shifted, they danced in the rain and it was like something out of a movie with the moody skies—because some love stories are just perfect with every weather ✨

Photographing other photographers is always special—but when they ask you to do it completely on film and bring a Bronica RF645 and let you shoot with it? That’s next-level joy. (I’m still thinking about that camera, not gonna lie.)
I had the most magical day showing this pair around some of my favourite places in the old town of Edinburgh. Followed by a sunny hike up Arthur’s Seat.

Slowing down and soaking in the magic and moments. Glencoe on 35mm film, where every frame feels like a breath held just a little bit longer. A moment really stopped in time.
There’s something about the grain, the tones, the waiting. The way film sees light is magic. In the Scottish highlands, even more so.
Shot on 35mm film, no editing. Just patience and a love for the process.

Storytelling with hands ✨ (it was time for another one of these right?)
One of the things I always look for when photographing is the way that hands tell a story. The way someone touches or holds their partner, a hug and hand squeeze from someone close to you. The nervous tension, the loose joyous moments, hands are such a key storytelling element.
When photographing portraits, hand placement is something simple that can elevate a photo. I always like hands to feel elegant, graceful and soft.
I have a background as a dancer, I alway remember my ballet teacher pushing the importance of hand placement. It’s something that’s lead me through both my life as a dancer and a photographer.
